Update from the home front

It has been a LONG 10 days on the Herrgesell home front. First let me say Carl is a trooper! Ten days ago I went to the hospital for a pain in my upper abdomen. The following night at about midnight a wonderful surgeon removed my appendix! Because I am preggo, I could not have a laparoscopic appendectomy. So instead I have a 5 inch incision with 8 staples on my abdomen-Janie Lou and I now have matching scars. 🙂

I finally got to come after a weeks’ stay at the hospital. Our families and dear friends have taken good care of us. We are so blessed.

I am still extremely sore and tired. Today I get my staples removed and hopefully the soreness will subside quickly. I am on bed rest for five weeks, so I have taken up crocheting to help pass the time. The hardest part about bed rest and being so sore is not being able to hold Janie Lou or even really give her a good hug because of my incision. She is doing great though. She loves all the attention she is getting from friends and family who are helping us out right now.

Many of you have been praying for me over the past week, and for that Carl and I are extremely thankful.

We are so thankful that our new baby did not arrive while I was in the hospital. She is doing well-still very active in my belly. She gave the nurses a run for their money as she twisted and turned not wanting to cooperate with the monitor they hooked up to track her heart rate.

Thank you for all of your prayers. We appreciate each and every one of them. We are so blessed.

I hope you have a great Friday wherever you are. God is so good. I pray you thank Him today for the blessings in your life. I know I will.

    Dearest Faity,
It’s wonderful to hear that you are doing so well! All prayers are being answered. It is no surprise that Carl has been a trooper through all of this, he is a gem!
Take good care of yourself, and don’t rush the process. Hugs to you all.
