Encouragement & Hope

An Earthquake in Your Heart

    Though the mountains be shaken

and the hills be removed,

yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken

nor my covenant of peace be removed,”

says the Lord, who has compassion on you.

Isaiah 54:10

Is the foundation of your life trembling?  Have you experienced an earthquake in your heart?  Do you feel like the all of the mountains in your life have crumbled into the sea?
When you feel like your life is hanging in the balance, where do you turn?  What do you cling to?
In Isaiah 54, God reassures us that even when our circumstances seem out of control, HE is still in control.  This verse particularly reminds us that His love for us will not be shaken. Did you hear that?
God’s unfailing love for you will not be shaken.
I don’t know what is going on in your life right now, but I know this: God’s love for you has not changed.  His love for you will not change! He loves you the same yesterday, today, and forever.  He will not change His mind about you.  He will never leave you or forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6, 8)  His love for you endures forever. (Psalm 136)
This verse also tells us that He will give us peace amidst our trials. Philippians 4:7 says it this way:

And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension,

will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

You can experience peace even when your life is chaotic.  This is a peace which can’t be explained.  God longs to cover you with his peace.  He is a compassionate God.  This peace isn’t an absence of conflict, but rather, an assurance of His presence through the conflict.
God hears your prayers.  He hears you when you cry out to Him at night and in the early hours of the day.  He loves you.  He longs for a relationship with you.  Don’t stop crying out.  Keep pursuing Him.  He is there.
 His unfailing love endures FOREVER.
