New Year

I’ve been loving on my baby

Just in case you were wondering what I’ve been up to…I’ve been loving on this sweet baby girl! She is a doll, and we are loving life.  Many of you have asked how she is doing.  She is wonderful.  She is eating and sleeping well, and Mommy and Daddy are eating and sleeping well, too.  {smiles}  Having this precious one is such a blessing, and I am treasuring every minute of it.  My sweet friend Liz Henderickson took this pic of Janie last weekend.  Liz is a fabulous photographer and great with babies.  Check out more of her photos at

A friend brought us dinner the other night and we were talking about new goals for the new year.  I told her now that is was February, I finally have thought about it.  A couple weeks ago while reading Ephesians I found my verse for the year.  Ephesians 2:17 “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.”

Having a newborn has caused me to ask for wisdom over and over again.  But the wisdom I was asking about was wisdom to love and rear my daughter well and wisdom to love my husband well.  After I read this verse I was reminded that my first priority is still to love God well.  I know that as I get to know Him better, I will be a better friend, employee, wife and mother.  So my prayer for this year is for wisdom and revelation that I will know God better.

What verses are you clinging to this year?

I've been a follower of Jesus for over 30 years, and have been teaching God's Word to students and women for nearly 20 years! God has brought me through some difficult chapters in my own life, and now my passion is equipping women like you with tools to embrace your own unexpected chapters in life with grace and truth.
