I can’t wait to meet the Hergycub!

Hey, Friends!

I can’t believe we are so close to Christmas!  This morning I have hot oatmeal, hot chocolate and Christmas music warming me up for the day.  Today, I wanted to give you just a brief personal update as we approach the Christmas season.

Carl and I are less than a month away from our due date!  We are so excited to meet this little one.  I can’t wait to share the news of our little one’s birth with each of you.  I love being pregnant this time of year because there are endless “feel good” movies to watch when I can’t sleep, layering sweaters is in style, and the cold weather offsets my ever rising body temperature.  {smile}

Celebrating the birth of Jesus while being pregnant is also amazing.  I have thought so much about Mary this season.  Last week Carl played a concert in Jackson, TN.  He was featured on one song, and he chose to sing, “Mary Did You Know?”  As I sat off stage and listened to him sing this famous song, I thought about our unborn child.  Obviously, our child will not accomplish what Jesus did.  But listening to these words made me think about what God has in store for our little one.  I wonder what gifts the Hergycub will be given that God will use for His glory.  Most of you know that Psalm 139 is one of my all time favorite passages.  As I think about the fact that God already has every day of this unborn child’s life written down, I get excited to see what is in store.  I wonder what great things our child will encounter.  I wonder when he/she will first have a broken heart.  I wonder if he/she will make music with Daddy or play sports all day long.  I wonder what trials our little one will face that will increase his/her faith in the Lord.  I can’t wait to meet this precious gift!

As I think about all the unknowns in our child’s life, I realize that there are still so many unknowns in each of our lives.  New life reminds us of beginnings, but I am reminded this year, that every day is a new beginning.  No matter what your age, God is still playing out the story of your life each day.  He still has so much to reveal about the plan He has for your life.  He still wants to use your gifts to glorify His Kingdom.  He still has a hope and a future for you.  Sometimes I forget that I am still a little child in my Heavenly Father’s eyes, and He has many new adventures in store for me.

This Christmas season, take time to think about  new beginnings in your life.  Each day is a new beginning.  As you think about all the Christ accomplished during his time on earth, think about how you can use your gifts to glorify God during your time here.  Don’t miss out on the opportunity this season to celebrate the birth of Jesus and acknowledge that His birth on earth led to your birth into the Kindgom.  Just as God had a purpose in sending Jesus to earth, He had a purpose in giving you life here on earth.  Let’s celebrate that purpose this Christmas season.

I've been a follower of Jesus for over 30 years, and have been teaching God's Word to students and women for nearly 20 years! God has brought me through some difficult chapters in my own life, and now my passion is equipping women like you with tools to embrace your own unexpected chapters in life with grace and truth.
