Encouragement & Hope

Finally Friday

For many of us we woke this morning and said, “It’s finally Friday!”  We are excited for the weekend and a break from the “daily grind.”  But for others, today is just another day.  Another day to fight the battles that we face day in and day out.  So, for those of you who fall into the second catagory, today’s verse is for you.

1     He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2     I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”

The Holy Bible : New International Version. electronic ed. Grand Rapids : Zondervan, 1996, c1984, S. Ps 91:1-2

Today I am praying for those of you who are walking through the valley.  I pray that you will find rest in the Lord.  I pray that He will comfort you in your time of need and that He alone will be your refuge and your fortress.  Today choose to put your trust in Him.  He longs to be your strength when you have no strength.  He longs to be your shelter from the storm.  You may wish that He would pick you up and set you back down on the other side of the fire you are walking through, but rather than take you around the fire He promises to walk with you through the fire.  Don’t lose heart.  He has overcome this world.  (John 16:33)  He will never leave you or forsake you.  (Joshua 1:5)

Keep trusting in the Lord.  He does have a plan for you (Jeremiah 29:11) even though the hope and future may seem 70 years away like it was for the Israelites.

I am praying for you, my friend.  I pray that your heart my be encouraged knowing that God can handle whatever it is you are walking through today.  I pray that you will dwell in  the Shelter of the Most High and find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

God bless.
