Friday Heather Proctor and I will head up to Shelbyville, Indiana and Saturday we will spend the day with the women of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.   I am so excited about this event!  Any chance I get to speak with Heather is a great day.  I love sitting down and listening to her share what God has laid on her heart.  The theme verse for the Discover Conference is Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works which He prepared in advance for us to do.”

This verse targets each of the topics…being God’s workmanship defines who we are, being created in Christ Jesus defines our significance and being created for good works which He prepared in advance for us to do gives us a purpose for our lives.

These topics hit particularly close to home for me as I have wrestled long and hard over each of them.  I, like most women, have tried to find my worth in something other than Jesus Christ.  I have tried to define myself by what I do rather than what Jesus has done for me…and I have felt like I had no purpose when my “job” wasn’t my dream career.

Please pray for us as we travel and speak…both of us feel called to share the Truth of Jesus with women, and we are excited about this opportunity.  We know that we have nothing to offer on our own, and would appreciate your prayers on our behalf, knowing that we need Jesus to fill us up and speak through us.

In addition to the conference we will also have a new resource available for you on the “Free Resources” page of coming next week…stay tuned for more details!

I’d love to hear about your journey.  Where do you find your identity, significance and purpose?  How has God changed the way you view yourself?  What Scriptures do you cling to when you are tempted to fall into an old habit of thinking?

I can’t wait to hear from you!
